1976 The company was established in Malacca, a historic city in Malaysia. 1980 Import of semi-finished friction materials for production. 1984 Finalisation of a Licensing & Technical Assistance Agreement with a German company on the production of brake linings. Full-fledged production began. 1985 Commissioning of new manufacturing facilities and commencement of production of disc brake pads and friction materials for industrial application. 1987 First shipment of Mintye’s friction materials for export market. 1989 Commenced production of non-asbestos friction materials and bonded brake shoes assemblies. 1991 Awarded the coveted MS ISO 9002 Certification; the first in Malaysia in the industry. 1992 Mintye Chemicals Sdn Bhd was set-up to undertake blending of Brake Fluid. 1993 Production of disc brake pad backing plates commenced. 1994 A MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT – the company attained listing status on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. 1995 Commenced production of brake shoe cores for both passenger and commercial vehicles. 1996 Bizz Trading Sdn. Bhd. was setup to undertake distribution of general automotive and motorcycle spare parts and accessories. 1998 Commenced production of sprockets for motorcycle application. 1999 Acquired Eurochain Manufacturer Sdn. Bhd., a producer of roller chain for motorcycle application. 2000 Awarded the coveted TüV German Certificaiton. The first in Malaysia in the friction materials industry. 2001 Obtained R-90 Certification (E1) from KBA Germany for disc brake pads and bonded brake shoes. 2004 Installation of Dynamometer for both R&D and Quality Control. 2007 Introduction of auto batch mixing, ensuring quality consistency. 2009 Began direct charge brake linings production system. 2010 Introduction of direct charge disc pads production system. 2014 Total stop on production of material consisting asbestos. 2015 Group started Young Aces Technical College to train fresh school leaver in Automotive Engineering.
